Jakub is a film director and screenwriter.

After exploring painting, photography, graphic design, and writing poems that — luckily — never saw the light of day, Jakub turned to a path that allowed him to combine all these fascinations: film. In 2021, he graduated in Film Directing from the Lodz Film School, creating shorts like Headfish and A Tale of Two Sisters, presented at over 40 film festivals worldwide, and co-writing the award-winning Ukrainian feature Blindfold.

His films, usually rooted in personal experience, explore themes of intimacy, loss, and the search for understanding in the modern world. They blend psychological realism with humour and a touch of surrealism — an approach continued in his latest short, Nothing Else, which premiered at the 2025 Krakow Film Festival.

Currently, Jakub is developing original feature films with screenwriter and film critic Piotr Czerkawski, while remaining open to directing and co-writing new, distinctive stories.
